Travel Motivation From 10-Years as a Digital Nomad: Why I Travel?
Hey there, it’s Mike Swigunski here and I’m the founder of global career and best-selling author of
In this video, I want to share with you why I travel. Over the past decade, I’ve been traveling full time, and my journey has taken me to more than 85 different countries. I was able to accomplish this by making travel a top priority in my life and not letting anything get in the way but myself.
Once you acknowledge that you are the only person in your life that can prevent your dreams from happening you.
Will have a complete mindset shift that will allow amazing things to happen. Every journey of a thousand miles begins with one single step, this is one of my favorite quotes, and I think this can be an inspiration for you and your everyday life.
Looking at your goals for the next few years or a few months, this is often why people fail their big dreams or passions. Because they don’t even attempt them, because maybe they’re so large.
They focus on the result instead of the process, it is my life goal to visit every country in the world, but the process is actually the part that I’m most excited about.
I built my business to fit around my life and something that can also help other people fulfill their own dreams of travel.
Right now my main purpose is to help others start their own global career and I do that through teaching people, how to work remotely, how to get started with entrepreneurship, and how to start their own global career.
Now when I talk to people they try to come up with a lot of things that are preventing them from fulfilling their travel dreams. Mostly money time they’re scared, but all of these are things that can be overcome, and if you make travel a priority I guarantee you’ll be able to get past these hurdles.
Now I want to ask you why you’re doing what you’re doing, why are you at your job, why are you going down the path you’re going. Is it because something you want to pursue? Is it to fulfill your own dreams ? or are you walking down a path that society is laid out for you? Why do you do what you do? Why are you following this path?
Maybe it’s the payoff of debt; this is all-important, but it doesn’t explain why I travel. One word can summarize the reason behind this regret, I want to build a life of zero regrets, and not pursuing a passion would be a huge mistake.
Traveling is when I feel most alive in life, and during every trip, I create a memory that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. Exploring the world pushes your boundaries and opens your mind, whether it’s eating a local delicacy, understanding a foreign ideology, or just getting outside your comfort zone and growing.
For me, I feel most alive when I’m venturing into an unknown location. Travel is my life. It’s my why!
